Furnace Load Concept Visualization
An oil cooler supplier asked DRM to consider ways to upgrade an antiquated loading system for their vacuum brazing furnaces. Additional load bearing capacities were needed based in increasing product demand. DRM used 3D design along with sound structural engineering to devise a concept and budgetary costs for a proposed system upgrade.
We also offered a replacement solution involving FANUC’s M2000 1350kG robot. Using 3D design, we planted this robot in a virtual plant replication. While the robot was definitely a departure from a typical loader, it offered numerous advantages for layout, part transport and serviceability. Without the aid of 3D graphics, it would have been nearly impossible to design much less present this solution as a viable option to our client.
Tire Handling System
A major OTR tire manufacturer asked DRM to concept a tire handling machine that could include their newest and largest models. DRM visited the site, spoke with key personnel and developed a 3D design for a proposed layout. Robots, existing machinery, fork trucks, pedestrian operators and ventilation systems were all incorporated into the design.
The 3D design environment allowed us to maneuver tires and tooling through this concept cell. With our laptop PC’s, we were able to visit the site and make edits while our meetings progressed. The end result was everyone understand what was needed to upgrade their system in the most efficient, safe and robust ways. |
