AO Smith had to replace an existing paint system for operational and environmental concerns. DRM integrated a Nordson Liquid Electrostatic paint system into the existing location but with operator familiar controls.

Three lines with two paint booths each.
To meet cycle requirements developed a 6 second 22 color paint changing scheme.
Only paint system known to Nordson that uses a PLC (AB ControlLogix) to control all loops.
Integrated with all existing fire suppression and bulk paint delivery systems.
Installed a server network over fiber-optic Ethernet which allows a local database to store data and pull from local recipes if the server farm is temporarily disconnected from the network. Will auto heal and auto backup data. Daily reports are emailed from the server.
