Carbon Dioxide Capture Plant
DRM was subcontracted to supply the PLC, SCADA and database controls for a carbon dioxide capture plant at a coal fired electrical generation facility. This plant was located outside where extreme temperature changes were commonplace. All stainless control panels housed the large amounts of I/O.
Properly sized heaters, coolers and battery backups accompany the controls in each panel. Fiber-optics connected these remote panels with a DRM supplied mobile controls house. This was an office for the operating engineers as well as a protective housing for the controlling PLC, data collecting server and SCADA computers. Historian software collected massive amounts of data and served up Excel reports displaying capture rates and plant effectiveness. |
