Area Lighting Controller
A small parts manufacturer contacted DRM to design and install a custom lighting system. The greatest amount of light is required when employees are present operating machinery. Lower amounts were needed during non-production periods and the lowest amount of light for off-shift security. But our client also wanted to use different light fixtures for security. This was accomplished by a PLC system controlling each ballast. Two, four or six bulbs can illuminate as required. Motion detectors sense operator presence. Time-of-day clocks set security modes including weekends and holidays.
Under Mezzanine Machine Lighting
A sealant manufacturer requested DRM to illuminate an automated area under a mezzanine platform so the operators could better watch the automated machinery. The client requested the area not only illuminate but be bright enough to help detect malfunctioning machinery or incorrect parts. Because of little room available, we chose compact fluorescent fixtures in with special diffusers. This spread a generous amount of light without generating a lot of heat or energy waste. The energy efficient bulbs only require maintenance once per year. |
